Garden & Pool
The Lotus Tree Swimming Pool
We have eight acres (four hectares) of grounds, almost all of it secluded from the road. It's alive with colour and butterflies in the early summer and the noise of cicadas when the weather gets really hot. The swimming pool is very big for a guesthouse: 12m long, 6m wide and 3m deep at the diving end! The grounds and pool are all clothing-optional so you can be naked at The Lotus Tree as much as you like. But if that's not your thing, no need to worry, you'll be just as comfortable.
More about the pool...
Around our pool there are solid teak sun loungers, hammocks, and plenty of parasols for when the sun gets really hot.
Summer temperatures are generally around 30C so our pool is always a popular place to hang out.
It helps make The Lotus Tree the most popular gay bed and breakfast in the South of France.
The Lotus Tree Garden
Our summer kitchen area is where we serve breakfast - al fresco.
Here, there’s also a fridge with cold drinks, wines and beers plus ice creams and snacks. It's easy - sign for what you take and settle up when you leave. Light meals and snacks are available on request.
At the end of the day, why not take it easy in our chill out zone. Lounge on the comfortable sofa and chairs and take in the view. Or borrow one of our books or magazines and sit and have a drink under the shade of the trees. The only thing to disturb you will be the sound of the crickets or the singing of the birds. Or maybe our friendly Labrador, Frankie!
In spring the gardens are full of wild flowers, including orchids. By June the lavender is coming into flower. The wild herbs give off an aroma at all times of the year and there’s an olive grove and some young truffle oaks among the huge variety of trees.
Meet Arpad
Arpad is with us again in 2012 as The Lotus Tree resort manager. He will help to keep your room clean, serve breakfast and make sure that your holiday is as comfortable as possible. He also offers a massage service.
We sometimes have additional work opportunities. If you'd be interested please get in touch:
Meet Frankie
Frankie, our ten year old Labrador, will probably greet you with a loud bark and a wagging tail when you arrive.
He’s very friendly and well-behaved and loves to welcome new people. Unfortunately while we have been happy to accept dogs in the past our priority has to be the comfort and enjoyment of our two-legged guests so we can no longer accept pets.
