Explore our gay bed and breakfast in the South of France

The Lotus Tree gay bed and breakfast in the South of France is set on a hillside overlooking the village of Montclus, about a mile away.

The guesthouse is in eight acres (four hectares) of its own grounds. The guest rooms are in three separate buildings housing four studios and two double rooms.  We have an off road car park to keep your vehicle secure.

The oldest of the buildings dates from the French revolution. The newest, our garden studio and adjoining summer kitchen installed in 2006, uses the same traditional local stone that helps keep all our rooms cool.

Our gay bed and breakfast in the South of France is the perfect place to escape to - whether you just want to lounge by the pool or explore the sights nearby.

The pool

The swimming pool is large for a guesthouse of our size. Twelve metres long, six metres wide and three metres deep at the diving end. There are solid teak sun loungers, hammocks, and plenty of parasols for when the sun gets really hot.

The daytime air temperature in summer is generally in the low 30s centigrade, so our pool is one of the most popular features of our gay bed and breakfast in the South of France.

Relax by the pool
The grounds

The summer kitchen area is where we serve breakfast and other light meals. There’s free tea and coffee all day and fridge with cold drinks, wines and beers. We hold regular evening meals up here too.

Overlooking the pool is a ‘chill out’ area with comfortable chairs and loungers in the shade. There’s a good selection of books and magazines to borrow as well as a video collection.

Evening BBQs

Around the grounds of our gay bed and breakfast in the South of France are other tables and chairs under the trees where the only thing to disturb you is the sounds of the crickets and the singing of the birds.

At night the garden areas are lit by solar lamps and candles.

Our assistant, Adam, is with us for the summer. He will keep your room clean, serve breakfast and light lunches and be on hand to help us make your holiday as enjoyable as possible.

We offer a summer job to students or similar every year. If you'd be interested in working at The Lotus Tree in the future please get in touch: info@thelotustree.com

In spring the gardens are full of wild flowers, including orchids. By June the lavender is coming into flower. The wild herbs give off an aroma at all times of the year and there’s an olive grove and some young truffle oaks among the huge variety of trees.

Lavender Fields

Frankie, our six year old Labrador, will greet you with a loud bark and a wagging tail when you arrive. He’s very friendly and well-behaved and loves to welcome new people. Unfortunately while we have been happy to accept dogs at our gay bed and breakfast in the South of France in the past our priority has to be the comfort and enjoyment of our two-legged guests so we can no longer accept pets.

All the attractions of the South of France are close at hand, but here you can escape the crowds and relax in good company.

You have a truly wonderful location and the accommodation and facilities are superb. It normally takes us a good week or so to unwind and start to relax, but from the moment we stepped out of the car we forgot about London and enjoyed every moment of our stay.

As you enter the gates, you can drop off all the weight that daily life puts on your shoulders, including your clothes. Laying at the poolside with those superb views of the village, it's a home away from home...

"We’d never stayed in a gay guesthouse before and weren’t too sure whether we’d fit in. But everybody was so friendly and we were made to feel comfortable from the word go. The facilities were first class, better than any hotel in the same price range that we’ve found on previous trips to the South of France."

Seven days in Paris sightseeing and we were ready for rest and relaxation. At the Lotus Tree that's exactly what we got and more. Great meals and excellent sites to visit in the area too! Don't miss the market days in the exquisite medieval towns. Out of 5 stars, our experience was a 10.
